Kimo... not the therapy.

Yay! we're back together for Forum! I missed it last semester because I feel like one big family when we all go together. But this semester's forum is a little different from last years. We get to hear speakers talk about the wonderful organizations and contributions that they provide for the community. Also we have to complete a minimum of 10 community servce hours as a requirement along with our blog. I am so looking forward to it!
There was a lot to cosider in deciding my platform. I went through many options before concluding that I would like to volunteer at the Florence Animal Shelter. Animals hold a special place in my heart because my mother raises Chihuahuas. I was always involved in helping her feed and take care of them, and I didn't mind at all because I would grow attatched to them. It was always hard when they came to the age of having to be sold but we always made sure the owners were up for the job.
I don't only enjoy in the caretaking of dogs but in all animals. I like to do as much as I can for them because I know that they cant do for themselves. Another experience in life that gave me the want to help animals is my childhood cat. His name was Kimo. As Kimo got older he got very sick and we brought him to the vet to find out that he was diabetic. We had to give him an insulin shot every morning and night.  He was 16 years old when we found this out and he was going downhill quickly. So us giving his shot to him on time every day was very important. Animals are just so fragile and I feel like I need to take care of them.
